Individual Know Your Customer (KYC)

The KYC process is a necessary step for BitGo Trust customers due to regulatory compliance.

Note: Before beginning the KYC process, please make sure you have gathered all the necessary documents. 

Identity Verification

To begin the identity verification process, click on the check box to give consent for the identity verification process.

Personal Information

Please provide your personal information. Please provide your personal address, not your business address. The address you provide in this step must match the address on the proof of residency document you will upload later.

Personal ID

Upload pictures of your government-issued photo ID, ensuring that the images are clear, well-lit, and all text on the document is legible. Accepted documents include:

• Driver's license

• Government-issued ID card

• Passport

Selfie Verification

In this step, you will complete a biometric selfie verification to confirm your identity.

1. You will be prompted to take a selfie using your webcam or device camera.

2. Follow the on-screen directions — you may be asked to perform simple head movements (such as looking left and right) so the system can verify you are physically present.

3. Your selfie will be compared against the photo ID you provided in the previous step.
   
   

After completing the selfie verification, your documents will be in review. In the meantime, you can proceed to Proof of Residency by clicking the "Next" button below.

Proof of Residency

Upload your bank statement or a utility bill. The address on this document must match the personal address you provided in the Personal Information step.

Individual verification is typically completed within 1–3 business days. If additional documentation is needed, BitGo support will reach out to you directly. Once your verification is approved, you will receive a confirmation email and can proceed with account setup.
