BitGo Production Setup
During the initial sales process, the primary account holder will be identified as an Organization Owner (Org Owner). Upon completion of the sales process, the Org Owner will receive an email notification to log in and set up the organization.
- After receiving the email, click on the Get Started button.
- The Get Started button will route to the BitGo UI where the Org Owner can sign up for their account and set a password.
- After creating a password, the login screen will reappear prompting for the email address connected to the account and the established password just set up.
Note: BitGo recommends that users not know their login passwords. Instead use a good password management tool to generate a strong random password and enter it automatically on your computer.
About Passwords
There are several different passwords in BitGo: one associated with the BitGo account login and potentially several others linked to wallets, such as a secondary password for an individual wallet.
Login Password: This is the password set when the account is created. It controls access to the account.
Wallet Password: Each Self-Custody wallet has a separate password established by the creator of the wallet. Only the creator of the wallet can reset the wallet password.
We strongly recommend that our clients use a password management tool to generate a strong random password and enter it automatically. Password managers can play critical role in personal cybersecurity.
BitGo will send a verification email to the email address used in the enterprise registration. Open this email only on the device that was used to sign up for the BitGo account.
Note: The verification email check is to confirm that the IP address used to sign into BitGo is the actual IP address of the user. Whenever the IP address changes (for example, due to signing in from a coffee shop), an IP Verification email will be sent to the user.
After the creation of the account, follow the next steps to finish setup of hte account:
- Two-Step Verification Setup
- Individual Know Your Customer (KYC) for additional BitGo South Dakota Trust custody customers
- Video Verification Overview
